This sets up a winner takes first make up game with the Scorpions. We are still working to get this in. Fire turn things around with 6-4 win!
•April 13, 2008 • Leave a CommentThings finally improved this weekend with the Fire pulling out a 6-4 victory over the Lexington Radiation. We played much better defense this weekend. One thing that needs to clear up is penalties, we had 23 minutes in penalties. Whitney Tyson had 14 and Brandon Stovall had 5 and Nick Tyson had 2 and Chris Pulley with 2. We are off next Saturday so we have time to work out more kinks.
Three Stars
First Star – Matt Whitehead – 3 goals and 1 assist returning to the old Matt, He defense and Penalty kill where great as well.
Second Star – Brandon Stovall – Brandon had the Gordie Howe hat-trick this weekend 1 goal, 1 assist and 5 for fighting. It was another solid effort from the big forward.
Third Star – Chris Pulley – Chris has 1 goal and played great defense all day long. Chris quit talking and started playing and good things happened. I hope to see this continue.

Fire lose 13-4 to Express
•April 7, 2008 • 1 CommentThe Fire played one of the worst games ever Saturday against the Express. Leaving men open in the middle and giving up soft goal after soft goal. They where never in the game despite the Express having a rookie goalie. They never got to him. The solid play from game one was no where to be found. They have to pick it up if they are to turn things around by Tuesday when they play the Express again in Jackson at 6:30 p.m. Good news is they work out some the kinks Sunday at practice and should have two of the missing links from Saturday back Tuesday. There are no Stars for this game. Two things of note Clint Struder and Martin Stovall got there first goals of the season.

From the Commish…
•April 1, 2008 • Leave a CommentTo avoid confusion, let’s stay with our original schedule and play in Jackson this weekend. We will try and make up the games missed in Lexington last weekend in Lexington or exchange a Jackson game day. I would like to hear if anyone objects to playing makeup games in Lexington on a Sunday afternoon. I understand if that is a problem but we don’t have adequate lighting in Lexington to play at night, at least in my judgment. I would like to hear your thoughts.
